The Paramount Max is a max-stack neutral trainer for easy days, long runs and recovery. It is also one of the better max-cushion shoes for orthotic wearers, thanks to an unusually deep footbed.
The forefoot is wide and rounded with plenty of splay room, though vertical volume is on the low side, so high-instep feet may need to adjust the lacing. The gusseted tongue wants moderate lace tension for midfoot security, and the flexible heel counter can dig slightly at the Achilles early on, with some runners using a lace-lock until it breaks in.
Best for: Easy days, long runs, recovery, orthotic wearers
Sizing: True to size
Fit: Roomy rounded forefoot with lower instep volume; standard width
