A carbon racer that fits more feet
The Endorphin Pro 5 is Saucony's carbon-plated race shoe, and its notable trait is fit: it is far less tapered than most super shoes, which makes race-day speed available to runners who have been squeezed out of narrow racers.
The toebox is standard to roomy for a super shoe, with added volume carrying through the midfoot and heel. The flat, stretchy tongue is stitched into the upper so it wraps and locks the foot without shifting, and lockdown comes from lace tension rather than heavy padding. A minority of runners report slight heel looseness, and the roomier last does make it feel bulkier than a sleek race fit.
