The Echelon is Saucony's accommodating-fit trainer, made for wide and high-volume feet and for anyone who needs to fit a custom orthotic into a stable, cushioned shoe. It is a comfort and easy-mileage shoe rather than a workout tool.
A stiff, prominent heel counter gives excellent lockdown, which is worth knowing if you have Achilles sensitivity. The midfoot is normal width with a normal-to-slightly-higher instep. The toebox sits a little low across the toes out of the box and takes roughly 15 to 20 miles to stretch in. The extra volume means bulky orthotics slide in easily, and the ungusseted tongue can slip on the run.
Best for: Easy miles, walking, orthotic wearers
Sizing: True to size
Fit: High volume and accommodating; standard, wide and extra-wide offered
