The Gel-Cumulus 28 replaced the Gel-Cumulus 27.
A new, softer foam, a softer heel gel, a new outsole and a little less weight.
What changed
- Foam: FF Blast Max replaces FF Blast+, with a softer PureGEL in the heel.
- Outsole: Redesigned forefoot with a grippier rubber section.
- Shape: Same geometry and heel flare.
- On the run: Softer, bouncier, more flexible up front and much roomier.
- Measured: 0.3 oz lighter, 1.9mm more foam under the heel and drop up from 11.6mm to 13.3mm.

Gel-Cumulus 28: The soft, smooth everyday pick. Soft and smooth, with a softer gel heel and a gentle rocker. It’s comfortable, but there isn’t much bounce at faster paces, and its heel sits much higher than its forefoot.
Gel-Cumulus 27: Smooth, stable everyday comfort. Smooth, stable and consistent, with a comfort-first feel for everyday runs. Not much bounce.
